Croyde Surf Report

Having endured several days of strong North Westerly onshore winds that have delivered the kiss of death to any resemblance of a reasonably shaped wave on any of the local beaches, we are still faced with even more unsavoury winds. However there are signs that the wind, although still NW, is now moderating a little, it's 3-4ft, still choppy and messy, but surfable, without the prospect of being blown to kingdom come!!!

0-1ft surf with a strong gusty South Easterly offshore wind. No surf showing at the moment, a very strong offshore wind, clean conditions, but nothing, no swell, to capitalise on the favourable wind direction, also feels like winter out there...happy campers, brrr!

1-2ft surf with a light Westerly onshore wind. Surfs dropped away throughout the day, really small now, although there's enough for a surf. A light onshore wind, crumbly lines, getting a little peakier towards low tide.

3-4ft surf with a light bordering on moderate onshore Westerly wind. The winds still reasonably light, not too overbearing, there's still a little shape and quality to the surf, the strength of the wind not effecting the overall definition of the swell too much. Worth a surf, still able to pick out a few from what's on offerÂ

4ft+ surf on sets with a moderate, gusty West South Westerly onshore wind. The swell's just beginning to establish itsellf through mid tide on the drop. Although, at the moment, it's quite a messy affair, it's not out of control and still surfable. Will get a little bigger through low and on the push.
