Sandy Hollow, Croyde

Big onshore waves with a moderate onshore SW wind. Stormy surf leading into the Christmas period with little opportunity of a decent surf on the home beach for the next few days. There's lots of frustrated surfers out there waiting for something a little more surfable on the home front. However, there's plenty of surf around, and, if you're able, they'll be a few spots worth a look.

Big stormy surf with onshore winds, gusting up to gale force 8. Another day of epic conditions, wind, spindthrift, debri and horizontal rain.

8ft sets marching unhindered into the bay, lots of water moving around as the tide pushes towards high. There's a very strong Southerly, almost South Southeasterly wind blowing. The sets, as they move into the bay at high tide, still have some shape and uniformity, even though there's a strong cross shore wind blowing, a good indication of the size and strength of the swell. Not a Croyde day.

5-6ft+ surf with a moderate-fresh southerly cross shore wind. Quite a gusty wind, reasonably sized swell, but just a little too much going on, wind direction, size and shape, to justify a comfortable surf at Croyde. Worth looking around the corner.

Anther day in the big surf zone...6-8ft+ surf at croyde with fresh SW winds. Big chunky surf, looks like the winds are drifting towards a more Southerly direction towards later this afternoon. Croyde's a no go area today because of the overall conditions, probably find a little shelter elsewhere
